Ffermio Bro: Farming in Designated Landscapes is a new programme to support the protection of landscapes in unique environments that will be launched later this year. Our Designated Landscapes are special and unique places and need to be managed, enhanced, and protected.

We are now looking for a Ffermio Bro Assistant Advisor to join us on a fixed term contract until 2028, working 3 days per week.

The Role

As a Ffermio Bro Assistant Advisor, you will support the delivery of the Ffermio Bro programme, building connections between Eryri National Park and the agricultural community.

Specifically, you will assist in identifying potential programme participants, support the provision of conservation and land management advice, and help signpost applicants to other relevant funding sources where appropriate.

Working alongside Ffermio Bro Advisors, you will act as a point of contact between farmers, the Eryri National Park, and funding bodies, ensuring advice and support are accessible and effectively communicated.

Additionally, you will:

- Help monitor the progress of funded projects
- Guide applicants through the application process

About You

To be considered as a Ffermio Bro Assistant Advisor, you will need:

- Experience working with farmers and land managers to achieve conservation objectives
- The ability to build strong working relationships
- Awareness of issues affecting farmers and rural communities in Wales
- A degree-level qualification in an environment, ecology, agriculture, or land management-related subject, or significant relevant experience
- A full driving licence, with the ability to travel across various sites
- The willingness to work outside typical office hours on occasion

Please note, this role will involve travelling across rough and isolated terrain.

The Role

As a Ffermio Bro Administrator, you will support the delivery of financial and administrative processes within the Ffermio Bro programme.

Specifically, you will support programme administration and oversee the financial management of multiple funded projects, monitoring expenditure against the budget, and ensuring financial procedures are properly implemented.

Beyond this, you will also support the Eryri ar Cylch Ffermio Bro Local Assessment Panel by scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, taking minutes, and helping assemble reports.

Additionally, you will:

- Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
- Process grant agreements, claims, and payments
- Provide financial information to support reporting

About You

To be considered as a Ffermio Bro Administrator, you will need:

- Experience of working with administrative systems and practices in a local authority setting
- Experience supporting the delivery of conservation projects and programmes
- Competency in scheduling meetings and taking accurate, confidential minutes
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in software packages such as Excel and Word
- The ability to work to strict deadlines and manage resources
- At a minimum, a Level 3 (A-Level) qualification or equivalent experience
- A full, valid driving licence
- The willingness to work outside typical office hours on occasion

Any experience with GIS would be beneficial to your application.

The Role

As a Biodiversity Officer, you will contribute to the conservation and enhancement of the Eryri’s biodiversity by supporting a variety of environmental projects and activities.

Specifically, you will deliver and develop new biodiversity projects, with particular focus on the EnRAW programme, as well as the local biodiversity action plan.

Delivering training, advice and assistance across the Authority, you will seek to improve the understanding of biodiversity, ecosystems services and the sustainable management of natural resources.

Additionally, you will:

- Represent us externally
- Provide advice on invasive species
- Deputise for the Senior Ecologist
- Co-ordinate volunteering for biodiversity projects

About You

To be considered as a Biodiversity Officer, you will need:

- The ability to communicate fluently in Welsh and English
- Knowledge of current and emerging legislation and policy on ecology and biodiversity
- Knowledge of protected species licensing
- An awareness of National Park purposes
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication, negotiation and diplomacy skills
- Computer literacy and confidence in Microsoft Office
- A degree in a relevant scientific, biological or land management subject
- A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle

The Role

As an Information Systems Support Technician, you will provide technical assistance and maintenance for our IT systems.

Specifically, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of desktop PC hardware and software, providing first-line technical support and troubleshooting system faults.

Beyond this, you will support our GIS functions by managing spatial information, performing data quality checks, and creating maps and reports as required.

Additionally, you will:

- Conduct PAT testing to ensure equipment safety
- Manage stock levels of computer and peripheral consumables
- Deliver basic IT training to staff and members

About You

To be considered as an Information Systems Support Technician, you will need:

- The ability to communicate in Welsh and English
- A relevant degree or at least two years’ experience in information systems
- Experience with computer hardware, software, and general IT systems
- Experience of GIS and GPS systems
- A full, valid driving licence

The Role

As the Director of Land Management, you will set the vision, direction and culture of the Land Management Directorate to enable support across the National Park.

Driving the Directorate to deliver activity focused on the management and use of National Park land, you will be involved in work across landscape and visual issues, biodiversity, cultural heritage, agriculture, dark skies, community cohesion, and managing people, recreation and sites.

You will also support cross-directorate initiatives, collaborating closely with other departments including Conservation, Woodland & Agriculture, the Wardens Service, and Cultural Heritage.

Contributing to the strategic direction of the Authority, you will support the Chief Executive, Leadership Team and Board Members and occasionally step in for the Chief Executive as required.

About You

To be considered as the Director of Land Management, you will need:
- The ability to communicate fluently in both Welsh and English
- Experience or a thorough understanding of the work of National Park Authorities, especially relating to land management
- Significant leadership and management experience
- A degree-level qualification in a Land Management-related subject, a certified qualification in a related field, or significant directly relevant experience
